To provide more opportunities for Ohio District investors and ministries, the Ohio District Church Extension Fund has consolidated with The Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) in St Louis, MO. This action has been taken following months of dedicated prayer and deliberation into the needs of the District and our mission to help fulfill the Great Commission, and only after approval by the CEF board and membership, Ohio District board, and the LCEF board.

LCEF is a ministry of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, funding local church and school construction and maintenance by loaning capital raised through investments in LCEF made by members of District congregations.

Questions about your account and investment choices should be directed to LCEF by calling 800-843-5233 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. (Central Time), Monday through Friday. The LCEF website, http://www.lcef.org, holds a wealth of information about LCEF, its practices and rates, as well as providing access to your investments.

Dave Bowers is the Lutheran Church Extension Fund Vice President for the Ohio District. He works closely in the areas of LCEF loans and services. Dave will assist your church and school to provide strategies for funding and structuring your financing to best meet the needs of each ministry’s mission. Contact Dave at Dave.Bowers@lcef.org.

Existing Ohio District CEF investments have been transferred to LCEF. Investment balances, accrued interest, interest rate, and (for term notes) maturity date have all been retained.

Similar to the past, when a Fixed Rate or Step-Up Rate Certificate nears maturity you will be sent a maturity notice outlining your options. You may either convert the investment to a note of your choice at LCEF or redeem it. You may also contact LCEF to convert one or more of your current Ohio District CEF notes without penalty at any time.

Term note interest may be withdrawn as before, but new deposits may not be made.

Save-By-Mail notes may be left open until April 1, 2019 at the same rate they are currently earning. Withdrawals and conversions may be made at any time, but new deposits may not be made.

New Ohio District CEF investments may no longer be opened; however, LCEF offers similar and even more opportunities!
